Has Twitch Finally Put The Final Nail In Its Coffin?

2 min read

Twitch is now rolling back new guidelines changes which consisted of “On-stream logos are limited to 3% of screen size. – Burned-in video Ads are NOT allowed. – Burned-in Display Ads are NOT allowed. – Burned-in Audio Ads are NOT allowed.”

Twitch recently apologized for the updated guidelines, acknowledging that it was too broad. The company clarified that the intention of the new guidelines was to prevent third-party ad networks from selling burned-in video and display ads on Twitch, which is consistent with the policies of other services.

Twitch has promised to reword the guidelines to make them more concise and understandable. They have also committed to keeping the community updated once the changes have been made. The previous set of guidelines remains in effect for now.

The ambassadors have expressed their concern over not being consulted about the change in guidelines before Twitch set them live. Twitch has acknowledged its concern and agreed to involve ambassadors in future changes. The company has committed to gathering feedback before implementing any changes.

But with all this being said by Twitch is it really enough? Other streaming platforms now in the game such as YouTube have had their own streaming features for quite some time and now a recent streaming service has taken off big time kick.com this might be the final nail in Twitch’s coffin, With streamers such as Marco, Dr. Disrespect, and other big streams either dipping the platform and/or asking others to do the same.

In our personal opinion, twitch needs to realize it’s not 2011 anymore, The competition in 2023 is harder than ever and they cannot afford to make mistakes, especially mistakes where kick.com offers better earnings whereas Twitch still does not and to top it off with they are making greedy mistakes like this, Come on Twitch, Do you really want people to dip your platform altogether after so many years?

kick.com already offers many amazing benefits it’s really up to Twitch now to either destroys themselves or reach up to the modern game as I said it’s not the last decade anymore.
